You don't have to be a farmer to be a young farmer!
YFC History
The first young farmers club was set up in 1921 in Devon. Since Young Farmers has grown and now has clubs all over the country including Ireland, Scotland and Wales with the head quarters for national YFC in Warwickshire at Stoneleigh Park.
The aim at the time was to encourage local farmers who lived in the middle of countryside to go out and socialise for one evening week, when they would not normally be able to. Eventually meetings, sports and the social side grew to more than one evening a week!
During the 2001 Foot and Mouth outbreak many clubs closed down and lost members, however the clubs have been able to restart and gain valued members back. As time passed the federation has grown to what we know it as today with our motto being "YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A FARMER TO BE A YOUNG FARMER!

Charnwood YFC was set up in 1946 with only a few members. Today many years on the club has grown a vast amount with 35/45 members and continues to grow. We have members from all back grounds, working in a range of careers. We are a very social group and organise group activities as much as possible.

A massive well done to all of our members who attended the county rally this year! We as a club did really well and came 9th overall! Well done!

Leicestershire county quiz night. We entered 2 teams and finished 9th and 11th. A very enjoyable evening was had by everyone! WELL DONE TO BOTH TEAMS!
Thank you to Sutton Bonnington show for inviting 3 members to join them of there charity evening where £10,000 was handed over to different charities. Charnwood had a stall and manned the sheath tossing at the event - See you next year for the same!
